Dis or That: An Explanation into the Disir
In the modern era, the word “dis”, plural “disir”, has come to represent the female ancestors, those who travel with us as we move through life. While the word certainly does apply to ancestry, some of the records left to us show the disir as protective spirits more generally. Patricia Lafayllve will discuss her research into the disir as it currently stands, including basic concepts and asking intriguing questions about what the disir may have been, and may be becoming.
Please Note: The conference is free, but registration is required.
